Willow Flower
by Arthur C. Eastly

Willow Flower, the daughter of an Indian chief from the Yanktonai Sioux on the Minnesota River, grew up to know the ways of the Sioux with a deep understanding of their history and legends. Rescued with her mother from a severe winter storm by James Richardson, a fur trader known as Black Arrow, Willow found herself fascinated by the white man’s knowledge, honesty, and direct approach to life.

Now married to Black Arrow, Willow helps him operate his trading posts and steadily grow the business. Expansion to the west along the Missouri river followed by a new operation east of the Mississippi river has given them coverage of a vast area from the Great Lakes to the Rocky Mountains.
